Eric Brown hasn't added a story.

My name is Eric Brown, I am Montana Sean Brown's father, Montana passed away December 14, 2013 from a one time experimentation with a new designer drug.  Since that moment of the phone call no parent ever wants to get, my family and I have been on a mission to raise awareness among parents and teens of the dangers of Designer Synthetic Drugs.  Designer Drugs are the 2nd most abused illicit substance after Marijuana by High School teens.  9 out of 10 teens will have used or experimented with an illicit substance by graduation.  1 out of 5 will be using regularly or addicted.  It is estimated that 1 out of 17 will die from using or experimenting with an illicit substance.  1 out of the 3 who die are experimenting with the substance for the first time. 2 out of the 3 think they know what they are doing.  We know that over 15,000 young people are dying every year from synthetics and that number is growing rapidly.  That is double the number annually of all those who were lost fighting the last 3 wars on terror.  These synthetics are produced in China, India, and Pakistan and sold via the internet to distributors who package it into delivery methods such as candy, liquids to drink or put in a vape pen/e-cig, smokable plant materials, other edibles, blotter paper, powders, inhalers and tablets.  There are over 3,000 of these substances with 2 to 3 new ones appearing every week.  IN ALL STATES AND UNDER FEDERAL LAW MANY OF THESE SUBSTANCES ARE NOT YET ILLEGAL AND CAN BE PURCHASED OVER THE COUNTER OR VIA THE INTERNET.  Many of you have posted your support and messaged us asking how you can help.  My wife Tosha and I often spend anywhere from 10 to 20 percent of our monthly income on this cause, from boosting important stories on Montana's community page, travelling on our own dime and time to speak to schools to give educational talks or trips to the legislature to shape laws against these deadly substances.  Here is Montana's story written by me as if I were him speaking from over the river Styx:

"I was born October 7, 1998. I died on the evening of Friday the 13th of December 2013, my actual time of death was pronounced early in the morning of the 14th. I was 15 years old and a freshman in high school. I decided I was going to try what I thought was LSD for the first time with my friend and two brothers. We had been planning all week to get some Shroomz, but we just couldn't find any. So, my friend knew this lady from work, who said she could get us acid. My brothers and I had never tried that before, we had tried weed, hydros, skittles and even nutmeg. So we Googled it and thought it would be fun to trip on. However, what was on the blotter paper wasn't what we were told it was and we didn't know any better to be wary of what it was. What we got was 25I NBOME, which is a research chemical that is much more potent than acid, not only does it have a psychedelic effect it has a physiological effect than can be fatal when you exceed the small dosage measured in micro-grams, which is easy to do when you think it is acid. Actually, there is very little acid out there anymore, most of what is being offered is RCs (Research Chemicals). My friend and the lady picked it up from this 25 year old college kid for $10 a hit. My friend brought it to our house. We took our first hit and waited a couple of hours, nothing was really happening so we took another hit. My brothers said after awhile that I started messing with them to freak them out. I kept doing and saying the same thing over and over again at least a dozen times. Apparently, my brain was caught in a loop and it just kept backfiring. Then I fell down in convulsions. My body was experiencing vascular constriction. My brothers and friend called a sober friend with EMT training who showed up in a few minutes. I had stopped convulsing and was laying on the floor with a pillow under my head when he got there. The EMT friend thought I was okay until I started convulsing again. By this time my brothers and my friend were too out of it to be much help. My EMT friend called 911 and started trying to help me. About 8 minutes after the call my heart stopped beating while I was in his arms. Three minutes later the first responders arrived. They called my parents, who were out of town on business and told my dad that I wasn't responding to CPR and what hospital they were taking me to. My dad was already awake he had woke up out of a sound sleep right before they called him with an awful feeling that something was wrong. The last thing I remember was a bunch of people calling my name. My brothers were put in the hospital for 2 days. My friend got out that night and helped the police find the guy who sold this to us. My friend, the lady, and the college kid have plead guilty to Federal charges. My friend got 6 months in Federal Prison and 3 years probation after he serves that. He will have a felony record all his life, he can't vote or serve on a jury or ever own a gun. The lady got the same sentence. The college kid got 5 years with no possibility of parole. My brothers were devastated by this almost to the point that they no longer wanted to live, they were lucky not to be charged also. I was one of the most popular kids in my school. I was a great athlete and an 'A' student. I was brilliant smart and was able to get away with just about anything. All the ladies loved me. My parents warned me about drugs all the time, especially after I got caught with some weed. I don't know what the big deal is lots of kids in my school do it. Now, I will never have a driver's license or even go to prom, which I'm sure is a big disappointment to all the ladies because I had so much 'hipster swag'. My advice to you is that you can't trust a drug dealer, that's kinda why they are called drug dealers, and you can't trust that your friend has any clue what they are handing you or bringing to you. Really, in the end messing with anything to get high just isn't worth it. My family misses me dearly. I hope my story helps someone reading this to make a better choice than me and really if you are that much smarter than me you wouldn't mess with any of this stuff. I know a lot of you geniuses are going to say this is fake. . . But come on, really? This is 2015, ever hear of Google? My name is Montana Sean Brown and if I were still alive I would approve of this message."  ‪#‎RIPMONTANABROWN‬ ‪#‎JustOneTime‬

Just to give you an idea. . . we have spent over $10,000 on our awareness campaign through Monty's page since the day after his death, we gain hundreds of new followers every day and our page is visited every week by over 500,000 to 1.5 million people, 75% are under age of 25.  On travel to and from speaking engagements and testifying before the legislature we have spent over $17,000.  We appreciate any help you can give, but regardless if you choose to financially help you can help just by sharing the stories on Montana's page and telling our story to others.  Thank you and God bless.Montana Sean Brown, October 7, 1998-December 14, 2013 Our Family 18 months before
