This is a first for me.....And all of you who know me from rescue know I don't ask for money, but I received a message the other day that compelled me, during this season of giving, to take action. Chea works at one of the hotels that we stay at in Cambodia. He is a wonderful young man, always smiling, always helpful and always at work. I would sneak down to the lobby late at night to grab a water and he would be there, sleeping on a wooden bench....and in the morning, I would be up before the kitchen opened and he would make me coffe....and in the afternoon, when we returned home he would still be there. In between, he was going to university to better himself. Sadly, his Grandmother was recently diagnosed with cancer, and the money for him to study a full year at unversity ($600) was taken to pay for her care. I am asking all of my friends to please consider donating even $3 to his education. It really is a small amount. I will match any donation, as I truly believe that he deserves a chance. I know that finances are tough for all, but many of you know that for all of the times I have NOT asked for money, I have responded to your pleas for it. So please, at this time of giving, good will towards all living creatures and compassion, consider making a small donation. I will be eternially grateful, as I am sure Chea will be. I will be traveling back to Cambodia on December 29 to contiune work on clean water issues there and would love to be able to pay for his tution at PUC.
