Amanda Garrett hasn't added a story.
On April 8, 2014 James Garrett III a Army Veteran and a friend went for a short motorcycle ride, just 8 miles to pick up some parts for the bike his wife had just gotten him 2 days before. He was then headed home or so he thought, but thats not what happened. What happened is he didn't make it home that day, just 5 blocks from home James was hit by a vehicle that ran a stop sign. The driver of the vehicle that hit James was drunk and high on Meth and the driver of the vehicle ran from the scene of the accident that driver did not have a license or insurance. Not caring about the people he had just hit he just ran. James was life flighted to Via Chrisit Hopsital in Wichita, Ks 100 miles away and then he had his left leg amputated. While James was in the hospital and his wife was traveling 100 miles one way daily to be with him then back home so their youngest son could attend school, the bills started piling in, and even though he has medical through his army wife, they are not willing to pay the majority of the bills. James is the father of 4 children the youngest still in school. James's wife Amanda was to go to Germany in January where James was going to get to see his oldest son whom he has not seen in a very long time. He only prays that this could still happen, as now it may not because he still needs a prostetic leg. James is worried about getting a prosthetic so that one day he can walk his daughter down the aisle and some day stand toe to toe with his children and wrap his arms around them. He is also worried that with all the medical bills he will not be able to finish paying for his forever home in Texas where he and his wife plan on returning once her military career has ended. As the driver did not have insurance all the bills are left on James and Amanda, so please see it in your hearts to help pay these medical expenses. We have always had to live pay check to pay check we understand some people can not donate a lot but each dollar you can will be a great helpand greatly apperciated. These are expenses that will last the rest of his life and he prays for your help and send his blessing to each person that reads his story. May God forever bless each of you and keep this kind of harm from you and yours. Thank you and God Bless.
