On November 12th, 2011, at age 11, Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. For the past 2 years, Ryan has undergone intensive chemotherapy treatments spending many months in Vancouver's Children's Hospital. Although Ryan initially responded well to the treatments, his family recently received the devastating news that Ryan has relapsed. Ryan must continue aggressive treatment in the hopes of going back into remission and to allow a bone marrow transplant. The family received the unfortunate news that there were no matches within Ryan's family. A worldwide search will begin for a Bone Marrow Match for Ryan.

In spending time with the family, it was overwhelming to learn of all of the costs associated with Ryan's care, costs that are not covered provincially or federally. Ryan's care is a full time job and I am asking for your support so that Ryan can receive the best care possible and his family can focus on his recovery. Ryan is such a fantastic young boy and his courage is inspirational. Among many, Ryan's dreams are to go to high school and one day own a restaurant or food truck in Vancouver! Please help us make Ryan's dreams come true. Ryan would like to donate some of the proceeds of our campaign to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I will be doing so on his behalf!
