On October 29th our beloved town of Island Park saw water the water levels rise to heights never been seen in its entire history. Every single home sustained water damage and many lost everything. Island Park is a small close-knit town of about 8,400 with many bungalow style homes that only had one level. A majority of these homes are now unlivable and the families must find other places to stay. Rental homes are non-existent so many residents are in hotels or staying in towns far away from their family and friends. The situation is not getting better as it has for many of the towns on Long Island. Island Park is a much sadder story. Right now, power has been restored but almost all the homes need to be rebuilt. Insurance companies are not making things easy for these residents and construction is moving at a snails pace. Many will not be able to get back into their homes for 6 months. They desperately need financial help during this difficult time. I have set up this page as a way to provide relief for these families. Please visit our offical website at www.iprelief.org.
