Trek Atlas Ingram was born on April 11, 2011 in the driveway of the Ingram's Maui home. Trek's arrival into this world was far from the ordinary and was a moment that will never be forgotten. Jarrett and Chelsea as well as their two other boys, Peyton (6) and Conner (4), have always dreamed of traveling as a family. Trek's birth catapulted this dream into reality. They booked 1-way tickets to Thailand in February 2012, but they received some devastating news in January. They noticed Trek was losing some weight and decided to take him to the doctor. In just a couple of days, they went from Maui to Oahu to Denver Children's Hospital to find out that baby Trek has a very rare genetic disease called Niemann Pick Type A. This disease has no treatment or cure and the life expectancy is 18 months to three years. Their plans to travel to Thailand were canceled but they decided they had to get one stamp on the passport of their son with the name, Trek Atlas. They set off to Central America and Trek currently has 2 stamps on his passport. One from Nicaragua and one from Honduras. They are spending special time with family and each other. They are truly embracing life together and making every moment count. It is a major goal to ease any financial burdens for the Ingrams as they take care of baby Trek and meet any needs he may have. Any support really helps with their medical and living expenses.
