A Bench in Sunriver for Tina
A place to remember her, to feel her love, and to sit with her spirit in the home of her heart.
——————
Tina lived a life shaped by connection. She loved people deeply and sincerely, and she gave her heart widely to her family, her son and daughter in law, grandchildren, friends, neighbors, her recovery community, and to anyone who needed warmth or understanding.
She valued people above all else and wanted to be loved as deeply as she loved others. Her life reflected that tender longing that was not a weakness it was her strength.
She felt deeply, cared deeply, and carried a soft heart through a complicated world. Anyone who knew her remembers her kindness, vulnerability, and how she made others feel seen.
A life with many families
Tina’s family story was large and full of love in many forms. She grew up in a caring adoptive family and later in life she was blessed to reconnect with her birth family. Those relationships expanded her sense of belonging. She carried both sides of her family in her heart and reconnected with extended family across different phases of her life. The result was a wide circle of people who loved her and claimed her as their own.
Her LaPine/Sunriver years
For nearly 30 years, LaPine was Tina’s home. She built friendships, practiced faith, and poured her heart into her recovery community. Even after moving to Portland, she spoke of LaPine/Sunriver with affection, peace, and nostalgia. It remained the place where her spirit felt rooted.
Tina’s Faith
Tina was devoted to her journey in Alcoholics Anonymous and offered encouragement, care, and love generously to others on the path of healing. Her faith evolved throughout her life and reflected curiosity, hope, and a desire for grace. She believed in people and in the importance of connection and belonging.
How you can Help
Tina passed away October 3, 2025, and many who loved her across Sunriver, La Pine, Portland, and beyond were unable to gather. To honor her life, we are creating a memorial bench in Sunriver with her name on it. It will be a quiet place to sit, reflect, remember, and feel her presence among the trees she loved.
This bench will be a space for her family, her recovery community, and friends to visit, find comfort, and feel close to her again.
We are using an all-or-nothing funding model. No one will be charged unless we reach the full goal for the bench and plaque. ($4,000 + 200 misc fees)
If Tina touched your life through friendship, family, recovery, or simply the warmth of her presence, we invite you to donate or share this effort. Thank you for helping us keep her memory in the place she loved most.
May this bench be a peaceful spot where her love continues to rest and welcome others.
