Our Story
I am a college student with a disability, working tirelessly to build a better future for my family despite battling serious medical challenges. While my health has improved recently, these struggles have taken a toll on my ability to work and provide for our household.
My husband has faced even greater obstacles having Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, he suffers from severe PTSD rooted from a traumatic childhood. His PTSD has made holding down employment impossible, leaving him emotionally and mentally drained.
Together, we’ve been navigating this journey with determination, applying for government disability support countless times. Unfortunately, those efforts have been met with denial after denial. My husband has just applied for disability benefits for the first time, but as many of you may know, this process can be long, uncertain, and emotionally exhausting.
Despite our efforts to keep going, the weight of these challenges has become overwhelming. We now face the heartbreaking reality that we could lose our home just days before Christmas.
