My name is Roland Amos, I am humbly seeking help in obtaining an above average legal team to petition the courts and file the appropriate motions to win my freedom.

On the date of October 2, 2014, I was wrongfully arrested and subsequently convicted of a murder I did not commit in which I received an 80-year sentence!  I have video evidence of the untrue coerced statement from a female acquaintance which was the only “evidence” used to convict me. I had two trials, a hung jury during the first and the second resulting in a conviction.  During the second trial the female acquaintance admitted “her statement wasn’t 100% true, she only said what the officers wanted to hear so that she could leave and wouldn’t go to jail”; a threat tactic the detectives used to unconstitutionally compel an untrue statement.  I informed my trial attorneys that I had a credible alibi and witness but it was never fully investigated.

Too many stories occur whereas individuals were tried and convicted due to coerced witness statements, only to be exonerated or given true justice after decades of years spent behind bars. I’m hopeful not to become another victim due to this unjust system.

At both trials I was unfortunately represented by the Public Defender’s Office and received substandard legal representation.  With a private attorney I am quite sure that I would’ve been acquitted and possibly been able to file a suit for wrongful arrest and imprisonment, thus preventing this long unjust appellate process I am currently enduring.

Again, with a good legal team I am confident that I can be released and get my life back on track as well as fight for the thousands of people wrongfully convicted like I was. Unfortunately, legal fees are very expensive, I am in need of as much monetary help as possible.
