My Story
Hi there, my name is Neve. I’m a sixteen-year-old kid living in Gilbert, Az. Over the past few years I have gone through some rough times with friends, schooling, mental health, and physical health. All these issues ultimately lead up to my breaking point.
At the start of freshman year, I was put in a psychiatric hospital for the first time. I dropped out of school and later spent six months in a residential treatment center. My life was structured, I was given purpose, I did therapy, and I took a lot of meds.
But none of this ever seemed to work. I’ve been through it all. DBT, CBT, intensive outpatient programs, residential, hospitals. I’ve been on countless pills and I’ll be honest, it’s exhausting.
I feel hopeless at times. I experience debilitating and excruciatingly painful panic attacks. My episodes are severe and even if I don’t look sick in your eyes, I struggle every day.
I love to be online. It’s where I’ve shared my story and journey and will continue doing so. I love my community online and I love the support I receive from them. But that still doesn’t change the fact that to this day, my mental health is declining.
And it scares me. I fear I won’t make it to eighteen. I fear I’ll be sent away for another six months. This is all so scary for a sixteen-year-old to deal with. But with a dog, I would never be alone.

A service dog would benefit me in so many ways, mentally and physically. Service dogs can be trained for so many different things! From seizure alerts to psychiatric alerts, guide dogs, to mobility aids.
Two of those are a big struggle in my life! I’m anemic and tend to be dizzy most of the time. A service dog could alert to this, get me to sit down, do deep pressure therapy, and even get me water! How cool is that?
As you read in “My Story’, I suffer from multiple psychiatric disabilities such as bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. I get depressed, manic, anxious, all of the above; on a daily basis. Again, a service dog could perform anxiety alerts before an anxiety attack escalates to a panic attack, block me from strangers, and perform deep pressure therapy.
Now let’s take a look at my life with a service dog: maybe I could go back to real school since I’ve recently switched to online school due to anxiety. Maybe I could go into work each and every day feeling confident. Maybe I could live a normal life again. Maybe I could find my purpose. Because recently I’ve been lacking all those things.
Your Donations
Your support and donations are the only way I will be able to do this. Service dogs require years of training and your donations would be funding that. With your support, I will be able to raise my puppy into the multipurpose service dog I need to live a fulfilling and joyful life.
