Deb Spellman is a foster for Dog4u, Inc. Animal Rescue. She fosters back to back, every two weeks to allow dogs the opportunity to get the good life.
She welcomes these dogs into her home and cares for them as her own.

For those of you who know my dog Moxie, Deb fostered her when she was first rescued and pulled out of a kill shelter in the South. What a great job she did preparing my Moxie for her forever home! I have since built a relationship with Deb.

Recently Deb shared with me what her dog Madison who had her gallbladder removed a few months ago, is experiencing. For the last few months it has been a daily battle for Madison's recovery. Although she would eat while she was on prednisone she had to be coaxed and her day always started with being finger fed. As time went on she had to be finger fed more often. Her appetite was waning.

Deb originally saved Madison at 2 yrs old. She was an owner surrender.

Madison has been provided a wonderful life. She was always very healthy until now.

The gallbladder surgery was extremely costly. Deb did not expect Madison to have further issues that required her to see the specialist again, but Wednesday night she became very warm and was shaking. Deb took her temperature and it was 104.6 which is dangerously high. During the time when Deb called the ER to say she was coming in, her husband wet Madison down and wrapped her in a cold towel.

Upon arrival a full blood panel was run. Her vitals were off the chart. Her eyes were jaundiced again as well as her inner ears. It was discovered she had a severe infection and Madison was admitted.
A regimen of antibiotics were provided as well as IV fluids and round the clock care. Madison is seeing an internist today.
