With what is going on in the world right now, I want to be able to provide a service in some way outside of advocacy. If you all know me, you have an idea on how Hula Hooping has changed my life. From 7 years ago, when I first picked up a Hula Hoop to help me lose 50 pounds in my weight loss journey, from a year ago when I picked it up again to use it to dance, to now wanting to share a skill and passion with as many people as possible.
Although I am currently pursuing my NASM Personal Training Certification, I feel more natural in my passion to teach Hula Hooping as opposed to the traditional gym and bodyweight training. I want to provide a monthly community Hula Hooping Class, as the non-profit portion of Hoop Teach and Jam, my brand of Hula Hoop Fitness classes. In addition to the classes I am seeking an additional 'Hoop Love' Hula Hoop Certification, and Liability Insurance for the year so that I can provide the high quality beginner Hula Hooping classes.
Some of what I hope to achieve with these classes is to:
- Provide a judgement-free environment for anyone wanting to get healthy in a non-traditional way
- Provide a safe-space; an "all is welcome" environment
- Provide a non-intimidating environment for those who have never hooped before
- Provide basic instruction on how to Hula Hoop for complete beginners, giving them one or two techniques to focus on without getting overwhelmed
- Provide a consistent, positive, and fun experience without the worry of cost
Your donation will directly help me to cover the costs of:
- Providing an indoor space for 12 monthly free community-classes
- Hoop Love, Hoop Instructor Certification to refine and provide higher-quality instruction
- Liability Insurance to provide coverage for any accidents (no worries, just preventive!)
- Hula Hoops and supplies to have enough Hula Hoops for students (and to make more!)
