Hello all. I'm Danielle.  I'm a single mom on a mission.  For years my family has had hardship after hardship after hardship.  It got to the point where I felt like my kids would be better off without me.  Everytime it seemed that things were getting on track and moving forward, the bottom would fall out from beneath us.  I went through a period of depression and questioned everything I had ever believed.  There was a part of me that never gave up hope, even though I never felt like I couldn't trust the light I would feel I saw at the end of each tunnel.  

One day, crying in my bed, it hit me like a ton of bricks.  Well, I should say gradually over a period of years and me one day putting things together.  I was asking God why me?  Why us?  Why all the time?  I try and live a good life.  I help anyone that I can in any way I can.  I looked at all the people around me who seemed to have it all together and they weren't trying to do right by anyone but themselves.  Yet, their road seemed to be paved with gold.  I didn't want the world, just to be comfortable.  I didn't want to be looking over my shoulder wondering if today would be the day the lights would be cut off, or the phone would be off, or even worse we would have to move.  And as I sat there trying to figure out how to feed us for the rest of the week, I started thinking about my life.  I found myself complaining about so many things.  And in that complaining, I started to see things differently.  I started to realize my purpose.

Years went by and I was working, barely getting by.  I hadn't done anything with the revelation I had.  Fast forward to 2016.  I recently started  a part-time job so that I could start working on my "project".  I was super amped up, roaring and ready to go.  And once again, that much too pretty rug was ripped right from under us.  It was like that dripping faucet that you were working on fixing, and then it just burst.  Our family had to move into a hotel.  What should have been a couple month stay has turned into much more.  I lost my job. My car was repossessed.  I found out a family home in another state has been vandalized and we only have a couple of weeks to get it fixed or the city is trying to take it.  And to put the icing on the cake, I have to get caught up on my hotel bill, or we won't have a place to live.  

I had a moment of panic a few days ago.  I prayed about it and as crazy as it seems, I am thankful to be where we are.  God had to stop me in my tracks to point me in the right direction.  I guess sometimes you have to fall flat on your face to get the hint.  At least I did,  With your help, I can rebuild my family's life and finally begin my journey.  

I started this campaign to allow me to put things back together and get started on what for now I will call The Village Project.  The money raised in this campaign will go to the following:

• Room and board
• Moving expenses
• Family home rehab
• Living expenses - 6 months
• Business expenses - 1 year
• Winter care packages for the homeless
• Meals for the homeless
• Christmas project for low income families and individuals
• Emergency fund to help families with necessities (utilites, rent, food, etc)

The Village Project is based on the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child".  Working together, we can make such a difference in people's lives.  I want to make sure that the difference we make is a lasting one and not just momentary.  I have seen first hand the "help" that is offered to people at their lowest.  And if we are being honest, most of it is made to keep them at or close to their current status.  That just isn't good enough.  I know there is a better way.  I believe with your help, we can affect true change. I don't want to put a bandaid on something that that needs not only surgery, but rehabilitation as well,  This is my mission.  This is my cause.  I hope you will join me in this journey.  I pray you will not only come along for the ride and watch what happens. but become a part of the journey as well.
