Ziyaad's journey to healing...

Ziyaad is the youngest of 5 siblings born to Nawaab Akram and Zaytoon Khan. Being the only son, Ziyaad has over the years captured the attention of all his sisters not to mention his parents, in spite of which he's grown to be a loving and extremely courteous brother, son and uncle.

By virtue of his late arrival, Ziyaad is blessed to being equally at ease in the company of his talkative sisters as well as their equally chirpy offspring.  It is perhaps this ability in switching between the two generations that has allowed Ziyaad to venture from being the small fish in the big pond amongst his siblings to being the big fish in a small pond amongst his nieces and nephews.  In fact, so adept at being the fish, Ziyaad's friends argue that this knowledge undoubtedly gives him an unfair advantage over them every time they go fishing. Come rain, sunshine, hell or high water, Ziyaad's Sundays are exclusively reserved for his earthly and aquatic companions; it's not a question of if... but which Masvingo dam are they're congregating at that day!

Unfortunately, of late, Ziyaad has been unable to persue his passion. He was recently diagnosed with a lymphatic cancer and has a tumor growth by his left lung which has severely effected his respiratory capacity.

On admission to a diagnosis centre in Harare, Zimbabwe, Ziyaad was referred to a hospital in India for onward treatment. However, his lung condition has prevented him from being able to undertake the journey immediately until his lung condition improves. Following consultation of visiting specialists from India in July 215, Ziyaad recently started chemotherapy treatment in Harare which is ongoing.

Unfortunately, the cost implications of the outlined treatment program are immense and it is in this regard we humbly appeal to you for any assistance you may ascribe through participating in our scheduled family fun day and sponsored walk to assist Ziyaad on his journey to healing.
