Larry Green hasn't added a story.
I have finished, and uploaded here, a very rough sketch of the image I will be creating in the shadow style as shown in the other photos on this campaign.

My wife and I have seen our share of Crime, Loss and Abandonment; we’ve learned that the most valuable resource we’ve had, we all have, through it all is God, family, our fellow human being, an occasional angel and community. If we can all extend, to others in need, support from our strengths; harmony and healing have a chance in taking place; at least the suffering aren’t alone. It’s the feeling alone and abandoned, in our deepest pain, which destroys further. Therefore my wife and I, observing from a thousand miles away, Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston SC; we see there’s something we can do.
We choose to extend our God given strengths towards healing.
In a style I’ve generated over years, I will build a monumental cross out of steel; a metaphor of strength, a beautiful visual for the living to honor their love ones taken too soon, using my God given talent, creativity, and abilities. My wife will extend her strengths in support of me in this endeavor. We will work, through our individual strengths, together towards realizing a healing sculpture.
We need your financial strength, which we don’t have at the moment, to get this done. We don’t have the space, tools or product to build the sculpture. Yet, we have you, your contributions and our abilities. The plan is to build, acknowledge the fallen, their families and you the financial supporters; donate this piece to the Mother Emanuel Church; take and fill orders for smaller bronzes; donating 100% the profits to the families of love ones whom have moved on from this earth.
Please help us by your strengths, use our strengths, while all these strengths are supported by almighty God, for healing. Working together in our strengths creating beauty and miracles.
In light of recent events in the news, the horrendous loss of life at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, (Mother Emanuel) in South Carolina.I’m seeking to create a memorial sculpture. I see a ten-foot tall monumental cross casting a huge shadow behind it, in honor of those whom have died here, using the technique I’ve developed. I choose to donate this sculpture to Mother Emanuel Church, while smaller bronze pieces can be ordered to replicate the original; 100% of the profits, from sales of the bronzes, I’d like to donate to the families who lost their loved ones.
The $50,000.00 I seek is for the creating and building of this very special sculpture along with the space, tools and shipping costs needed to do so.
The sculptured cross I'll be creating for Mother Emanuel Church is in the process of rough sketch, however this cross will be designed and built in the style that I work in; the sketch and photos below are an example of my style. When I finish the sketch of the cross I will be uploading the image to this campaign.
It was after almost twenty years of contracting in California that I realized I had a knack for designing furniture, which segued into sculpting with steel. My pieces have been sold in fine art galleries in Aspen, Carmel, Sun Valley, Idaho, Jackson Hole and Cody Wyoming. Collectors from all over the world have my work in their homes and offices.
I am back to creating and building what I love, which is drawing pictures out of steel. My technique of sculpting is one I’ve developed so as to create another element to the sculpture, which is the, detailed, shadow created by the way my sculptures cast this shadow; solid forms cast only the outline; no detail. As far as I know my pieces are the first of their kind.
I’m in the process of creating a monumental size sculpture, of a country music singer, to be installed in Nashville, Tennessee at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I have included a photo of a small prototype sculpture as well as a rough sketch of the completed full-bodied piece so you can see my style. I have tentatively titled the piece Country Music.

Below also is a photo of a 6’ foot tall prototype sculpture; one in a series of sculptures that I hope to complete for the Dallas Cowboys organization. My vision for the series is for each of them to be 10’ feet tall and made from 3/8th inch thick hot rolled steel; instead of the 1/8th inch steel prototypes in the photos below. I have titled this series Ten Foot Tall and Bullet Proof. It seems appropriate for a great team such as the Dallas Cowboys.
Thank you so much for your time and your contributions to this very important hope and healing cause.
Sincerely,
Larry Green, Sculptor in Steel

*Tragic Events such as what has taken place at Mother Emanuel Church, and other tragedies far less publicized, will only stop or be healed because of "we the people" working together with God.
