Background

I had 2 roomies: one moved out in mid-December, the second went MIA. When I tracked Roomie2 down, I learned that they had fled the state and moved hundreds of miles away (?!??!!). Once I got over the shock, I had to immediately shift into problem-solving mode. I would have preferred to stay in this apartment, but the rent is going up by about $200. I made the difficult decision to move out and start a new chapter.

Wait, What?!

Yeah. Roomie2 completely abandoned this apartment, left the furnishings, and didn't even give notification. I had to cover all rent and utility costs for January by myself 😒.

Logistics:

• Be out by March 1.
  The lease is up, so I have a hard deadline to get a new place.
• Reach out for help.
  Local friends have been very generous in lending their time/energy/resources as I continue viewing apartments. I've got some prospects, but need to go through the vetting and application process.
• I am working on a very tight budget.
  I began a PT remote gig in December, and will be filling out my work schedule once I am settled. Having to cover all of January's costs by myself wiped out what little savings I had. Estimated expenses can be found here.

Life throws curveballs at the damndest times. But family and community is the greatest support anyone can have when things get tough, and I'm grateful to anyone who has the heart and resources to help.
