My name is Ricky, and I am FTM transgender. I’m here to raise money for my top surgery, which is a procedure where my chest will undergo a masculinization process that will get rid of the breast tissue. I have been on testosterone and living as a man for two years. As a transmasculine person,  I feel very dysphoric about my chest. I bind or tape most of the time. It is hard to breathe while I bind so I switch to taping which leads to skin irritation. This surgery will give me the freedom I want from binding and taping all the time. I will also be able to swim shirtless and change in locker rooms which I haven't done it for so long due to the dysphoria.

In Spring 2018, I graduated from San Francisco State University. I am in the process of looking for a full-time job. For now, I have Medi-Cal for low income individuals which covers the costs of top surgery. But I may lose it once I get the full-time job. Therefore, I need to do this surgery as soon as possible while I still have Medi-Cal. Fortunately, I was scheduled for top surgery with Dr. Ester Kim at UCSF on Feb 13, 2019. Dr. Kim told me that I won’t be able to work at least for a month after the surgery. As you know, the living expenses in SF are high, I’m afraid that I won’t have enough time to make money from my part-time job, so that is why I have turned to FundRazr to get help cover my bills during the recovery so I can recover well without stress. It would mean the world to me if you donated-every cent helps. Thanks! much love to you all.
