The A.R.C . is a dream we are asking you to help us make a reality!

Over the past 7 years our family and foster volunteers have been able to help hundreds of dogs in very dire situations but we've also had to leave many others behind because we simply had no where to place them and in the crowded county shelter system they were sadly lost, time is never on our side.
As a foster group each dog we accept responsibility for HAS to have a foster family ready and willing! It can take a few days or weeks to find a foster family and often it's just too late, these dogs are all on borrowed time. This temporary transition shelter won't help us save them all but it will help us save many more!
Our rescue promises each family that no matter what happens down the road we will do our very best be there to help and we have stood by that promise for 7 years, taking back dogs we adopted out 3-4 years earlier, often having very little time to find a place to put them. I cannot describe the level of stress that puts on all of us when that happens or when a foster decides to give up a dog, how many plans have had to be canceled due to someone giving up on a dog and us having to scramble. But this center will serve as an emergency space for these dogs in transition, no more scrambling and begging people to house dogs at a moment's notice. They will have a safe place waiting for them!
We are willing to invest the blood, sweat, tears and time to build this facility and are ready to devote our lives to these dogs in an even bigger capacity but we need your help to get there. We have $125 so far from a previous campaign last year to build the center, but we have a long way to go yet.
This facility is modest but highly functional! The 10' x 16' building will feature 3 indoor kennels with access to 3 attached; covered divided kennel runs of approx 10' x 5'. It will be heated and cooled for year round use and built to last. A 3.5' x 16' aisle space will serve as a food prep/ storage area and also feature a dog lounge area for dogs to have cuddle time and socialization with volunteers! We have also designed a smaller 10' x 10' building if we can't secure all the funding needed for the 3 kennel center but the difference is only about $600 to add the extra 6 feet and extra kennel space.
Having the A.R.C. at our home means we are here to run it, full time as volunteers, as always. There will also be opportunities for other volunteers to come help and spend time with our rescue dogs, a first for our rescue!!! It also means room for more dogs that need a higher level of care, having them onsite and being able to follow a quarantine procedure means we can help dogs that really have no chance in a county shelter system.
We are so excited to take this next step and it's so needed, too many dogs are being lost simply because there is no space for them to go, we are offering a solution to help and are looking forward to helping many more dogs find their happily ever after.
Our plan is to be able to utilize all 3 kennels in emergency situations but to work hard to make sure there is always a free kennel space here. Being able to take on an extra 2 dogs at a time with an average 30 day or less adoption time means around 20-30 more dogs/ per year could be saved! And even more considering we take in mothers with puppies who can share just one kennel. And many dogs will only stay at the center for a short time until they can go to a foster home, making room for other dogs in urgent need.
We are looking for donations of materials, gift certificates for building centers like Menard's, Home Depot or Lowes and also monetary donations to purchase what cannot be donated. Anything helps! Please see our materials needed list.
Our timeline for this project is ASAP. We will be pouring the cement slab late this summer then the rest all depends on the timing of donations and community support from our rescue friends. We are interested in any other options people may have to help get this center off the ground!
