Do you know my story? My name is Braco. I'm the protege of Association Mijau from Rijeka, Croatia. I have one request for you. Please do not shoot during next days because I was injured in the shootout. I have only two years and a very hard life behind.

According to the stories of people from the town, who had been a ray of hope in my life, I got the same name like my brother Pufi. He loved people very much and believed to them too much. He could not imagine that the man will not slow down his car in the parking lot in „peaceful“ neighborhood Baredice Zamet, where we used to play. I saw him when he was hit by a car. I ran up to him, but my brother Pufi died in front of my eyes. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything. I lost my brother. My agony continues...

Soon after this sad day in the same neighborhood, I was a victim of bad guys who decided to shoot at me. They shot me in the front paw. The bullet fragmented my bone. Despite this, I was lucky. Volunteers of Association Mijau have noticed me and helped me. They took me to the vet clinic RiVet in Rijeka.

On the same day late in the evening, I was operated in vet clinic Kreszinger in Zagreb. There, they have done an complicated orthopedic surgery. After three months of hard recovery, they finally took off annoying fixators from my paw. I was really looking forward to run on the beautiful green grass. Unfortunately, the recovery did not go as expected. At the place where my bone was fractured, doctors found me a “false knuckle”. I became sad because I knew I would not be able to run and play. Also, some experts have proposed amputation of my paw, because it is cheaper. But, my friends from the Association Mijau didn't give up! They paid another difficult operation. Dr. Lea said that the operation went well and that I will be able to run again. I was really scared about the operation. Because of the fear which I felt, I scratched my friend, a lady from the Association Mijau, which was giving me an injection. Who even likes injections? I am sure that she will not mind and that she will forgive me.

Also, something else I would like to tell you. What really bothers me is shooting of firecrackers. I'm afraid that they will hurt the innocent animals and make them suffer like me. I do not know how people can look forward to firecrackers. They can cause pain and suffer, or even death.

I am currently recovering from the second operation.
