Elizabeth (a.k.a. "Kissabeth") was rescued from an egg farm in 2013 and has lived happily at Hen Harbor since then.

Last Friday, after noticing her labored breathing and extremely pale comb, we rushed her to the animal hospital, where veterinarians said that her hematocrit is so low that it is considered "incompatible with life."

Despite all this, Elizabeth still shows resilience and a will to live, pecking at her food and basking in her heat lamp while we give her supplemental oxygen and supportive care.

However, she needs a blood transfusion if she is to have any chance at recovery. Luckily, a generous donor has pledged to match all donations up to $500! That means if we can raise $500 for her, we will really have $1,000, which should be enough for her transfusion!
