The rapid evolution of technology has put many issues such as privacy, open government and Internet accessibility at the forefront of many current political debates. Since my election in 2011, I have been a strong voice for tougher on-line privacy protections, a passionate advocate for open government, a proponent of an affordable and accessible Internet, and a promoter of a thriving digital economy. As a digital native, I am in touch with the current issues surrounding all things digital and I understand where it is going.

Here are concrete actions that I have taken so far:

-In 2013, I launched a campaign to promote the importance of enhanced privacy protections in the digital age entitled My Privacy Online www.myprivacyonline.ca

-I have launched numerous online and in person consultations across the country on issues such as digital literacy, privacy, open government, digital media, Internet accessibility and the digital economy.
