‘Absent friends’ is a public art project bringing some joy to our city as we emerge from lockdown. It will place life-size sculptures of people into the seats left empty by social distancing, in cafés & public places. The figures will be modelled on local people who can’t be there in person due to Covid.

The project has generated an excited response from the public and potential venues. However, with Arts Council funding suspended, without support from local people and business it cannot happen. Will you help to make the project a reality with a small donation? Your name/ logo will be displayed with the sculptures (or you can donate anonymously).

How your donation will be used

The more money is raised, the more places the sculptures can be placed. To launch the project and place the first sculpture will cost £800. After that, to create and place each additional sculpture costs £200. This fundraiser will get the project off the ground. I will then be asking venues who host the sculptures to help cover the cost.
