My name is Megan Kirby, and I am a senior at Hillsborough High School in Hillsborough, New Jersey. So many people within my school, my community, and around the world are on the Autism Spectrum, myself included. Since my own diagnosis, I’ve found the stigma surrounding Autism Spectrum Disorder to be one of its greatest challenges. No matter where one falls on the Autism Spectrum, they deserve acceptance from their community.

During my freshman year of high school, I started an campaign to promote Autism Awareness and Acceptance throughout my school. Along with several committed students and friends, I organize several activities within the school to spread our message. We have since expanded these activities into the eight other schools within our district, and the unity we’ve seen has been inspiring.

This year, we are selling tee shirts and wristbands, both to promote our message and to fund materials required for the activities. (Note: I will reach out to those who purchase tee shirts/wristbands for shipping information)
