Help Nicole fund raise for animals in Malawi
Last year in 2012 I went to Malawi, my birth place, wanting to work with animals.
Many people had told me about this organisation LSPCA that takes care of animals in and around the capital city Lilongwe, so I went and asked for work. I didn't know what to expect. They let me start in September 2012 as a volunteer.
I learnt so much in just three months of working there, it made me want to become a veterinarian! I couldn't have asked for a better job! I became very close to some of the animals, particularly the cats during my breaks, if I was early or just wanted time alone I would go sit with them. I became very attached to a kitten (called Blackie) which I adopted, but left with some good friends.
Blackie is now a fun-loving, healthy and spoiled cat, and he's just one example of how an animal can be saved from the dangers and starvation on the dirty streets.
The LSPCA also specializes in dogs, and per year, many dogs find happy homes thanks to their efforts. All money raised on this page will go directly to food, medicine, facility maintenance, care-taking and support for the animals at the LSPCA.
