Quick Fix is a short film written by Allie DeNisco and Harold Stricklin. The film is about the journey of three girls as they embark on a night of psychedelics. The three girls different dynamics with eachother lead the girls down their own paths of discovery. The film ends with learning that while everyone’s coping habits are different, that does not mean they will work for you, and to realize that a short-term fix leads to breaking everything else.
LOGLINE: When an insecure best friend turns to drugs for a quick fix, she must navigate the cost of her actions and deal with her emotions.
We are hoping to raise $600 for our film to support production design, costuming, and food for the cast and crew!
We beleive this film is an important story to tell as it aims to analyze the benefits, yet be wary of the costs of psychedelics. Things may open your mind, yet also be destructive. It is important to know yourself before jumping into a decision that can seriously effect you. Drugs can be very scary and addictive, we want to ensure that while creating this film we emphasize the negative effects of drugs and how irrational decisions can cost you and your friends/family.
The remaining $400 will be donated to the Josselyn Mental Health Care Center. These $400 will helps support 50 clients in need of Josselyn's Drop-In Center care as well as purchasing art supplies for children on their healing journey!
"Josselyn is a nonprofit community mental health provider offering a full range of therapeutic care, including therapy, psychiatry, case management, and employment support, plus psychological testing and an Intensive Outpatient Program for youth.
Josselyn’s vision of providing Mental health for allreduces cost as a barrier to receive mental health treatment and support. Josselyn works with every client to ensure access to care regardless of income and insurance, including a sliding fee scale based on eligibility."
