We have and will continue to receive financial support to cover all equipment, film footage, wages for cinematographers thus far, green screen filming of most of the geometries and studio rental. There is still quite a bit left to do. No worries that aspect of the project is covered Covering our personal costs, however, is becoming a struggle.
Bali is far more expensive than it was when we left 4 years ago. As we have previously posted - instead of trying to rent a house in which to live that was either in a noisy tourist area with endless construction going on or too expensive. We decided to patch up our old funky house. This was done as quickly and cheaply as possible. Then the storms blew in and we were flooded twice. At this point we have given up on all but one secure room in which we are now living and sleeping.
Considering the vibe and rainforest it was without doubt the only way to go. It’s not exactly comfortable but it’s magical and utterly resonant with the mission in hand. The monsoon season has only just begun and more basic renovations will be needed. Due to various world events that have escalated in the last several months, people are not traveling as frequently and when they do they are not spending as they used to. Sales for November and December have plummeted and we are finding it more difficult to meet our financial commitments here or in the UK while we continue to work on the film.
