Candles for Kai
Hello wonderful soul,
Thank you for taking a moment. Your time and energy are greatly appreciated.
My name is Teresa Slone and I need help. My 12 year old Kai has to have immediate spinal Fusion Surgery.
- Kai was born with a genetic defect that causes numerous issues as she ages. One of which being a curvature of the spine.
- After much advocating over the course of the last two years I was finally able to get a referral to the Shriners Children Hospital for a consultation on October 24 2023.
- To be informed that Kai is required to have immediate surgery. So that she can breath and move properly. And immediate in this case means within the next three months.
- I am a single parent who has raised and provided for them by myself a majority of the time. I currently work 50 hours a week doordashing due to those same genetic issues causing complications.
- I also make 100% soy scented candles and wax melts to support Kai and their sibling.

Kai and myself are required to be in Chicago for the surgery
and post op care anywhere between 5 to 10 days. At which point I
am unable to work and I am needed at home for 6 to 12 weeks afterwards.
- Kai at that point will need a whole new wardrobe as she will be stretched to or close to their natural height. Kai's growth was projecteded to be over 6'6" and at 12 stands at 5'6".
This is my plea as a mother who needs help to keep her family stable while she does what she needs. Bills do not take holidays and eviction is a really big threat in light of current life circumstances.
I am begging for prayers and shares.
