My partner and I are from NY but live in Bali, Indonesia. We started feeding a dog that lives on our street about a year ago after we noticed that she was severely malnourished and neglected by her owners. She recently had puppies and was looking very unhealthy, and we decided we needed to step in to help her and her dog family.
We were able to remove her, her 3 puppies, and another stray male dog from the street and bring them to a local shelter. Although the shelter is safer than the streets, there are way too many dogs (there are 200!) and it is extremely understaffed. While they genuinely care for the dogs, they lack the proper support to take care of every dog. We want to do whatever it takes to try to keep these dogs safe and find them their forever homes.
Our plan is to get each dog treated by a vet and receive all their vaccinations and sterilizations. From there, we would like to remove them from the shelter and have them stay at a dog boarding home near us. This way they can get the adequate care and attention that they need and we can check in on them regularly. Lastly, we will continue to work to find them homes either here in Bali or overseas.
Your donation would help each dog get medical attention, vaccinations, food, and a temporary home at a dog boarding facility while they wait for their forever families. Although pet care is generally cheaper in Bali than it is in the US, the bills will add up for 5 dogs. We (and all the doggies!) would appreciate any help from you!
