I'm Matt Hoke.  You may remember the red flags at the DNC protests.  I organized their construction and distribution along with some friends, comrades, acquaintances, and randos.

I want to do it again at the Trump inauguration protests.  My hope is to get Trump to associate the protests with red flags **so he flips out at socialists on Twitter**, catapulting discussion of socialism back into the mainstream media, which has been absent since Bernie lost the primary.  He is very thin-skinned and volatile so this could actually work.

I want to clarify to the world that the opposition to Trump is not sore loser Clinton supporters.  It is the disaffected working class opposed to a cartoonishly capitalist millionaire.  This seems like a message more people would support.  We can, should, and really must shift the narrative from the resistance to Trump being offended liberal-class millionaires like Meryl Streep to an actual socialist and working-class resistance.

The money is to cover costs of fabric, handles, staples, transit, whatever friends I have to bribe to help me, fundrazr fees, etc.  I also paid for the DNC flags entirely myself out of pocket and am still deep in the hole from that last time and am kind of in a rough spot financially from that, so I could use the help.

We usually associate explicitly socialist or communist parties and demonstration culture with Europe, Asia, or Latin America.  We don't think of red flags as something you would see in the USA.  At the DNC protest we changed that.  I'm optimistic that we can keep that going.  Red flags were everywhere.  I need help though.  I can keep this going.  In the future I'd like to be more organized and systematic about this, less of me doing it as an individual, more of it being done through organizations.  Right this second it happens to be organized through me, because no one else is really doing it at the necessary volume to make an aesthetic/symbolic impact.

I don't like asking for help, but confronting America with an aesthetically visible socialist movement has to be a group effort, so actually, it's more like I'm asking you to pull your weight.

So pull your weight.  Donate.  Significantly.  Make the meter move.
