The first day of school is a time of excitement and nervousness for every kid. Traditionally it means back to school shopping for supplies, new shoes and that perfect outfit to make the best first impression but some families simply can't afford it. It's a simple thing but we believe that every kid should have a chance to start school with their best foot forward.

This is the second year of an annual fund set up in the memory of 10 year old Zoë Slayer who lost her battle with cancer in November, 2013. School was one of her favourite things and she was alway so excited to get her backpack organized and that new outfit to show her friends. Instead of being sad about what Zoë is missing out on, we've decided to share her enthusiasm and generous spirit with those who need it the most. Our goal for September 2016 is to raise $500-$1000 to purchase backpacks, school supplies and new clothing to donate to the Christie Street Refugee Centre.
