Hi all....my name is Katherine Butler and I am the proud mummy to Happy Henry the Pug, Henry will be 13 years old in October, sadly Henry has been paralyzed for 4 years after he suffered ruptured discs in his spine, due to the location of the damage between the discs and spinal cord, surgery was not an option for him, Henry spent 12 months learning to walk again through hydrotherapy and acupuncture, during this time my brave boy raised money for a domestic violence charity, gaining sponsorship for every step he was able to take, I am so so proud of him.  Unfortunately the nerve damage continued and Henry lost all use of his back legs including his bladder, we never gave up, my boy is strong willed and a fighter, I learnt to express his bladder and was always there by his side whenever he needed me, Henry's love for life, his determination and need for independance is what he deserves, I became my boys full time carer, gave up my job and promised him I would do everything to allow him to live a happy fullfilled life.

Just before Henry became paralyzed his insurance closed down leaving him insurable, for the past 2 years Henry has used a wheel cart which has given him the independance he needs and also kept his fitness and mobility, sadly further nerve damage has spread and his front body is now weakening, he is unable to pull his heavy cart, which has took away his mobility, freedom and independance he once had, light weight wheels from the USA is what he needs and will give him back his mojo and love for life.  

I have spoken to a company in the USA who make and design 'Counter Balanced Cart Wheel Chairs' which would help Henry regain his independance and mobility, keeping his front legs strong for as long as I can.

My vet has confirmed Henry is not in pain, but arthritis will eventually set in so we need to keep him mobile, there is sadly nothing more my vets can do, so I am determined to make every day a special day filled with lots of love and fun.
