Ariah Transmeier, a beloved friend and member of the North Texas equestrian community, needs our help.
On Monday, November 3rd, Ariah suffered a serious kick to her face while finishing evening chores. She was found unconscious in the pasture, thankfully by a friend who just happened to be there at the right time, a testament to the protection and grace surrounding her.
Ariah was quickly assessed by Pilot Point Fire Department and CareFlite airlifted her Medical City Plano. She was then transferred to Parkland Hospital, where she remains in the ICU. The Parkland ophthalmology and facial trauma teams acted swiftly, and she underwent nearly five hours of surgery early Tuesday morning, the first of multiple reconstructive procedures she will face in the days ahead. She has sustained significant trauma to her brain, right eye, and facial bones, and her prognosis for regaining vision in the damaged eye is poor. Although she has a long recovery ahead, her doctors are optimistic she will remain stable and continue improving.
The timing is especially challenging, as the holiday season is normally the busiest and most financially important period for her small business, Red Horse Farm & Home. With Ariah hospitalized and her husband Evan now by her side, their family income is at risk and the impending medical and caregiving bills will place a tremendous strain on their household.
For years, Ariah has given generously to others and into her community. She has cared for countless animals like they were own, supported fellow horse owners through injury and illness, and volunteered her time on the NTEA board and at equestrian shows and events throughout North Texas. Her kindness, skill, and can-do spirit have been a blessing to so many. She is a cherished friend, a loved daughter and wife, devoted horsewoman, and a woman of unwavering Christian faith.
Any amount you can contribute will help them and go directly toward supporting Ariah and Evan during this heartbreaking and unexpected season. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this campaign to spread awareness.
Thank you for rallying around Ariah and her family in this time of need. We will continue to post updates as we learn more in the days and weeks to come. Please keep Ariah, her family, and her medical team in your hearts and in your prayers.
