I’m thrilled to share some exciting news—I’ve been awarded a 2024 Windcall Residency, which I will be attending on October 23, 2024. This is a tremendous honor, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping me offset my travel costs to Point Reyes, CA, the ancestral land of the Coast Miwok people.

The Windcall Residency Program is a nationally recognized leadership and renewal program designed for movement leaders like myself. Many of the nearly 700 alumni of this program, including distinguished leaders such as Charleen Carruthers, Andrea Ritchie, Lisa Jones, Markasa Tucker-Harris, Tammie Xiong, and Sharlen Moore, have made significant contributions to social justice. However, the demands of this work often leave little time for self-care and reflection. Windcall offers the rare opportunity to step back, reflect, and rejuvenate in a peaceful, natural environment.

I’ve dedicated myself to social justice through my work with Priceless Incite, centering intersectionality in my efforts to support and uplift survivors of gender violence. My work spans local, statewide, and national levels, where I strive to empower those impacted by violence, advocating for their rights and providing crucial support to help them heal and thrive.

At Windcall, I will engage in creative and reflective activities, including art, meditation, and creative writing. Creative writing will allow me to explore and express my thoughts and experiences in a profound and reflective way, helping me to process my journey and return to my work with renewed clarity and inspiration. Additionally, I will have access to a professional coach/therapist to help me reach my goals and return to my work with renewed energy and purpose.

While the (three-week/one-week) residency program is free, I am responsible for covering my travel, ground transportation, and securing income replacement for the time I’ll be away. My goal is to raise $5,000 to cover these expenses. I’m asking for your help—could you support me with a donation of $25, $50, $75, $100, or any amount you feel moved to give?
