Alien Mermaid Cove is a retail shop that
promotes an eco-friendly lifestyle by providing sustainably sourced
up-cycled clothing, jewelry, art & home goods. The shop donates a
portion of its proceeds to low-income individuals to participate in
art classes.
Currently, Alien Mermaid Cove owner Teresa Flowers is working
diligently toward moving the shop to a bigger and more manageable
business space. This new space will not only serve as a retail shop
for Alien Mermaid Cove, but also a studio for Teresa Flowers
Photography and an education space for Creative Development Institute.
Alien Mermaid Cove is currently an online retailer, so the presence of
a physical storefront would bring more interaction with the community,
more points of retail and a home to develop the brand.
To achieve this goal, funding is necessary to lease the collaborative studio and storefront space. This is where you come in! Teresa is a single, female business owner, which presents unique challenges when it comes to growing Alien Mermaid Cove’s reach and impact. While Teresa has been working to expand her business for four years, she has faced frequent obstacles, including being passed up for numerous loans and grants. Most recently, COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on Teresa personally and professionally. She has been working nonstop ever since to recover. Not only is she aiming to get back to where she was before the pandemic hit, she believes she can grow her business even further.
To make this dream a reality, she needs your help! Any donations, big or small, will go a long way in allowing Teresa to lease the storefront she needs to expand Alien Mermaid Cove and its ability to positively impact the world we live in.
With the growth of the AMC shop, she hopes to not only promote a sustainable lifestyle, but also provide low-income individuals and women access to the arts. All money raised will go towards the cause!

A portion of the proceeds from this brand go towards art grants for women. This brand allows individuals to be sustainable while supporting women to thrive as artists.

About Teresa Flowers
Teresa Flowers is an internationally recognized multimedia artist and owner of retail shop Alien Mermaid Cove based in Portland, OR. Teresa’s photography has been published in Shots Fine Art Photography Magazine, NAKID Magazine, Ugly Magazine, Amadeus Magazine, Photo District News, and Black and White Magazine. She won the prestigious award of Fine Art Photographer of the Year at the International Photo Awards as well as the People’s Choice Award in photography. She donates her work to the Focus on AIDS photography auction to raise funds for AIDS research, care, and education. Teresa was the Artist in Residence at Maker City in Downtown Los Angeles. She was also featured in Women’s Business Magazine as one of thirty women to watch in business. Teresa conducts private workshops in photography and mixed media and is a sought-after freelance photographer.
