Mars has a huge mass right next to his penis that is growing and looks very painful!
Mars needs your help! He was rescued on his last day from an L.A shelter and is 13. We drove 1400 miles round trip to get him because the thought of this old guy dying alone in a shelter was too much for me. Especially a pit bull!
We found out when we picked up that he had been used as a fighting
dog and when he got too old to fight..the jerks filed his teeth down
and made him a bait dog. We have been working to socialize him with
our pack but its a slow process. He still tends to get scared in new
situations and has a hard time trusting people.
I would like to remind everyone that when we rescued him he
apparently was given a clean bill of health by the shelter. We noticed
the mass within five minutes of rescuing him so I am not sure how they
didnt notice it. My point is, we were not aware he needed this
expensive surgery when we rescued him.
When we first got him, he was too skinny and sick to have the
surgery but he is now at the perfect weight and health! Please
help us help Mars. The surgery and follow up will be
approximately 1500 dollars. Because of where the mass is and it being
so vascular he will have to have mulitiple drains put in after surgery
so the cost is high.
