Help Me Turn LivingEchoes Into a New Beginning

Hi, my name is Paulo, and I'm an independent developer from Brazil working on LivingEchoes, a dark atmospheric 2D game about survival, loss, endurance, and the decision to keep moving forward.

But this project became much more personal than I originally expected.

Some time ago, I suffered a serious accident that changed my life. The recovery process took a significant toll on me physically, professionally, and financially. During that period, I had to use the savings and resources I had built over the years just to keep things going, and I eventually found myself dealing with debt while trying to rebuild my life.

I'm still doing that today.

Living in Brazil has also become increasingly expensive, and starting over while dealing with financial pressure and physical limitations is not easy. I'm doing the best I can with what I have, continuing to work and taking things one step at a time.

LivingEchoes became part of that restart.

I'm developing the game independently, learning and building its systems myself while also creating its art direction, music, sound, story, characters, and world. My goal isn't simply to release a game — I want to build something that I can genuinely call my own and hopefully create a path toward a more sustainable future for myself and my family.

The game itself has unexpectedly become connected to that experience.

LivingEchoes is about a man trying to survive in a broken world while searching for the people he loves. As the story progresses, themes of trauma, persistence, physical struggle, memory, and the will to keep going become increasingly important.

In many ways, while I was creating a story about someone trying to find his way back, I realized that I was doing something similar in real life.

Why I'm asking for help

Developing a game independently requires time, software, equipment, publishing costs, assets and services, and eventually professional support in areas that are difficult for one person to handle alone.

After the accident, I no longer have the financial reserve I once had to invest in the project. Most of what I had went toward keeping my life together during recovery, and I'm currently building LivingEchoes with the resources available to me.

Contributions to this campaign will help me continue development without having to abandon the project because of financial pressure.

Funds may be used toward development software and tools, audio and production services, hardware when necessary, publishing and distribution expenses, legal and intellectual-property costs, localization, marketing materials, and other expenses directly related to bringing LivingEchoes to release.

I'm not expecting anyone to fund a dream overnight.

I'm simply trying to give this project — and myself — a real chance.
