Hello everyone!
My name is Gábor. I was born and raised on a farm. My parents ran a relatively successful business: my father was involved in animal husbandry, while my mother focused on crop cultivation, horticulture, and earthworks. She also tried her hand at hospitality in the past.
Unfortunately, both of them passed away suddenly, leaving me with only the farm as my inheritance. Since I was too young, I couldn't continue their business. I started working, but in my region, I had to travel long distances, and the jobs didn’t pay well. So, I decided to try my luck abroad, leaving my farm behind.
That was a huge mistake…
After a year, I returned home only to find that all my furniture, wiring, and even the heating units had been stolen. I had no choice but to go abroad again.
Later, I had two relationships, both of which came with debt and left without it... Meanwhile, the condition of the farm deteriorated further. Every piece of metal was taken—fencing, animal enclosures, even the corrugated metal roof of one of the buildings, along with all the doors and windows—leaving nothing but bare walls.
Once again, I traveled abroad and worked in several places for three years. Many times, I wasn’t paid or was made to work under different conditions than agreed upon. I was naive...
However, I learned two foreign languages (English and German), and I’m currently working on a third (Italian).
Now, I have decided to return to the farm with the following plan:
I want to create a fully self-sustaining system that not only provides for itself but also becomes a vital foundation for society over time. Its goal is to support the survival of local small businesses and to strengthen the social sector—first locally, then globally. This will be achieved by harmonizing ancient knowledge with modern technology, ensuring the smallest possible ecological footprint. The system will primarily focus on food production but will also include sustainable production of cosmetics, clothing, and other necessities.
What I need to make this happen:
A fence (approximately 300 meters)
An off-grid solar system (2x 15kW)
A new roof
Gardening and hand tools
A stove and a cauldron
IBC tanks
A pump and water pipes
Additional wood and metal materials
A starting supply of livestock and plant
