Hi, I am Zanele Tlhapi and I am from Gauteng, Krugersdorp.
I am a single mother of Three who is self-employed. Due to COVID 19 lockdown as well and unrest riot in South Africa. The business has been so slow sometimes made nothing at all. All savings for tuitions have been used for living expenses.
Refilwe Tlhapi is one of my daughters doing matric and passed with a bachelor of 3 distinctions. She has achieved top ten through her years of schooling. She is a very hardworking girl and has been getting awards since grade1.
Her heart will be broken if she cannot attend this year. The intention is to take care of the year younger sister as she can see my struggle to find work.
We have applied early for bursaries but seem to be taking longer than expected. All bursaries came back with the same message of reviewing applications.
I have tried NAFSAS but could not qualify because being self-employed. I am worried that she might lose space at Pretoria University –The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. She applied and was accepted for BCom-Economics.
First-year expenses:
- The donation will be used for Registration Fee R5000 -I have raised already the registration.
- Tuition fee- R56 000
- Accommodation- 6 500 a month equal to R65 000, excluding meals.
- A laptop-R5000 is also needed at the beginning of the year have already a module that is due before orientations. In Total, R131000.
Its means the total will be more than R131 000 including meals a year. I will appreciate all your assistance, please. All funds raised will be paid directly to the relevant institution.
