AYMNTAIO, MACEDONIA, GREECE: We knew the dog pound was closing for renovations. We did not know that the municipality was giving alternative shelter for the 45 dogs in the pound! Instead, the puppies, the old, the sick and disabled, and the adult dogs, must be released onto the streets in line with municipality policy!
We cannot let this happen! These dogs have received the best care possible from 2 lone volunteers. They have struggled for years with no resources to get these dogs into good health, to socialise them and protect them from harm.
13 disabled dogs will transfer to MoonAcre Sanctuary for disabled dogs in Cyprus. Solutions MUST be found for the remainder of puppies and old dogs who will not survive the Balkan winter in the open.
We need funds to fly the disabled dogs to Cyprus! We need funds to transport and house the puppies, old dogs and adults in private boarding kennels elsewhere in Greece, while we continue to advertise these poor dogs for adoption.
Please help us to overcome the enormous and unexpected challenge we face with Winter already setting in!
