Hi, I’m David Rothberg. I’ve been Cantorial Soloist at Temple Chayai Shalom in Easton MA for the past decade, where I’ve been writing a lot of Jewish music. I created a Friday night service called Rockin’ Shabbat Eve, in which the prayers are all exciting, uplifting rock songs written by me. People love it, people of all ages. 

Now it’s time to take Rockin’ Shabbat to the next level -- to bring it to the rest of the Jewish world, by making a recording that, I hope, will inspire people. I want Jewish musicians, song leaders, Cantors, rabbis, educators, to hear this music and bring it to their temples. And I want Jewish music lovers everywhere to groove to it, dance to it, sing to it, be elevated by it.

I’m working with an amazing team, including my co-producer, the fantastic singer-songwriter, Sue Horowitz, and my recording engineer and co-producer Eric Kilburn of Wellspring Studios. I’ll be singing and playing guitar, and we’ll have talented professionals on a variety of other instruments and vocals.  

This project will cost more than my fundraising goal, and I'm expecting to contribute a sizable sum. Your support will help pay for studio time, recording engineers and producers, studio musicians, graphic design, photography, and manufacturing CDs. You'll make it possible to make it a better recording than I could afford to do on my own.
