We are Spoke'n'Chain, nomadic cycling touring theatre since 2013
We were on our way to a festival of slow travel in France to perform our brand new show.
We have had everything stolen, our home, our bicycles, our show, our livelihood.
Our dream vanished in the dark of the night, we lost everything.
The thieves that came in the night stole the story of a giant, stole the dream of new stories to come, stories of a beautiful world which we know is possible.
The things that people consume we can replace, we can buy them
again.
To replace the story and the dream we are asking for your help.
Some of you are very kindly offering help already and are wishing that we get the show, the dream back on the road again.
With your help we can raise our morale and the funds that will enable us to remake the show, put it back on two new bikes and come and perform it for you wherever you may be.
In the ten years that we have been travelling on our bicycles through out Europe performing our theatre, staying with strangers, camping, we have only ever met kind and generous human beings and have never had anything stolen until this last week.
We would like to continue to keep the road open for travellers and to keep making connections with all you wonderful people out there.
Here is a very rough, initial break down of our budget needed
£ 600 will get us all the materials we need to re make the pictures, props, puppets, costumes and Jonny the Giant
The time and place to make everything again we will find, we just don't know where yet.
£ 1000 will replace our sound system including speakers, amplifier, battery, mp3 player, remote control and all cables and stuff, everything we need. Sadly we won't be rebuilding a pedal power system at this point.
£ 4000 will put two brand new cargo bikes back under our derrieres including saddlebags, lights and all other little extras that we'll need.
