We are
Team Buccaneering Badgers
Oscar & Archie, a couple of recent uni graduates who are driving our ridiculously underpowered little car 20,000 miles from the UK to Mongolia and back for charity!
We aim to be as sustainably conscious possible throughout the voyage, demonstrating that long distance travel can be done in an environmentally conscious and sustainable manner. This will be achieved by carbon offsetting our fuel, using items such as zero waste washing products, aiming to plant a native tree in each country we pass through and surviving as frugally as possible by camping, fishing and foraging for our food. If possible for sections of the journey we will live entirely off the land. When not possible we will reduce our single use plastic consumption and store non recyclables to create a "plastic swear jar" to make us aware of how much plastic we use.
We are doing this for two fantastic charities:
Cool Earth - A charity working with indigenous rainforest communities to stop deforestation and help tackle climate change!
MNDA - The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by Motor Neurone Disease. This charity is close to our hearts as Oscars beloved grandfather died from Motor Neurone Disease in 2016.
Isle of Scilly Wildlife Trust - The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust is a small local charity that aims to protect and maintain the islands flora and fauna as well as important archeological sites. As it is such a small charity each donation, whatever size, has a massive impact on island species.
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal - More than 4 million people have fled Ukraine since the conflict began. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they now face an uncertain future.
We are already raising funds for these charities but to enable us to make this ridiculous journey in our little 1.0 litre 44horsepower 1992 Polo

Putting local people, who are uniquely suited to manage and protect the rainforest, first. This aligns with our beliefs on taking care of the planet, reducing our impact and living a more sustainable life. MNDA - The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by Motor Neurone Disease. This charity is close to our hearts as Oscars beloved grandfather died from Motor Neurone Disease in 2016. Motor Neurone is a fatal neurological disease that affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time and kills five people everyday, a third within two years of diagnosis and half within 14 months. It has no cure. I want to raise funds for expert researchers to change this. Just £75 can fund a researcher for half a day. My target is to fund as many days as possible. It will lead to a new and better understanding of this condition and will bring us closer to a cure. But every donation you give however small will help to make a difference to a person living with MND and their families https://www.mndassociation.org
