My husband and I just received the most devastating news that we could never have prepared for. My young husband of 3 years has just been diagnosed with testicular cancer.
He had been feeling symptoms which he had checked out. We were expecting the fix to be something simple. Never in our life had we expecting to hear the words “cancer”.
The very word made me want to crumble. My whole world went black and I found myself disassociating and unwilling to accept this reality that we had been dealt.
Nevertheless, I must be strong for my husband.
While we are both still working, he is unable to work a full schedule due to numerous doctor's appointments and missed hours, especially when he starts his chemotherapy. I want to be there physically to support my husband through this difficult time.
As of now we only know that the treatment will be to address the cancerous mass and address the cancer with chemotherapy.
As we do not have children, we are seeking options from fertility clinics to preserve some sperm before we begin the series of chemo treatments which will indefinitely damage the fertility of my husband.
All I want is the chance to grow old with the love of my life, have kids, watch our kids grow older and have kids of their own.
I want that for us, and we could use any help anyone is willing to offer. If you have anything to give please, consider contributing, help save my husband. While treatment should help my husband, the chemotherapy and fertility treatments will be costly.
