Survivor Essentials Fund

The G-IRL Survivor Essentials Fund helps provide practical essentials, emergency assistance and safer options for survivors of domestic abuse.

G-IRL works alongside S.A.D. (Sobreviventes de Abuso Doméstico), Portuguese for Survivors of Domestic Abuse,  to connect survivors with practical resources, support and a community that understands.

Contributions may support any of the following:

• transport
• emergency accommodation
• bedding
• toiletries
• clothing
• phones

and other urgent needs.

Funds are allocated according to individual circumstances and available resources. Survivor privacy, dignity and safety come first.

Practical support, safer options.

Leaving an abusive situation can mean leaving behind almost everything. Practical support might mean transport to somewhere safer, a room for the night, clean bedding, toiletries, clothing or a phone and SIM card to communicate more safely.

Domestic abuse can undermine a person's safety, confidence, independence, finances and support networks. Access to practical essentials can make a difference at a critical moment.

The Survivor Essentials Fund exists to help make that support possible.

We fight domestic abuse through awareness, education, campaigning and culture. Through our S.A.D. survivor network, we also work to connect people with support, practical resources and a community that understands.

Your donation helps provide practical support to survivors of domestic abuse when they need it most.

Every donation helps us keep going and respond to the needs of the people who turn to us.

• €10 ~ Everyday essentials. Contribute towards toiletries, basic necessities and other everyday items.
  
  
• €25 ~ Safer transport. Contribute towards transport to somewhere safer, a support service or another important destination.
  
  
• €50 ~ Essential items for a fresh start. Contribute towards bedding, towels, clothing, pyjamas and toiletries.
  
  
• €100 ~ Urgent practical support. Contribute towards emergency accommodation or other essential needs, depending on individual circumstances.
  
  
• €150 ~ Safer communication. Contribute towards options such as a phone and SIM card, where appropriate.
  
  
• Choose your own amount. Give an amount that works for you. Contributions of all sizes support the fund’s work.

**These amounts are examples of contributions towards support, not fixed prices or guarantees that a particular donation will fund an entire item or service. Donations may be pooled to meet the most urgent needs. Support depends on individual circumstances and available resources.

Survivor privacy and safety are central to this work. Access to support should not depend on sharing a personal story publicly, and a survivor's identity will not be exposed as evidence of the support they receive.
