Shining Light Sanctuary’s is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 2016. 
It's primary goal is to help at-risk children, youth & Veterans out of whatever darkness and trauma they are currently facing and bring them into a place of hope, restoration, and light within local communities.  In the past, we have offered therapy, at no cost, to Veterans at rented/boarding facilities. 

Now that we have secured the Sanctuary land and initial animals, we are ready to begin offering ongoing services within the local community to those in need. 

We do this through various therapy programs, to include animal therapy, as well as life skills classes, at an affordable rate to those in need. 

We are raising start up monies to provide for the operating expenses and training necessary in order to properly get the ongoing therapy programs up & running. For this, start up capital is needed as soon as possible, as we hope to offer summer camps and programs by the end of the year. 
 
Most immediate financial needs are needed in order acquire:
1. Proper 3-5 Rail Top Rail Fence/Cross Fencing/Gates with No Climb Stretched & Attached & land leveling/dirt work for 5 total acres. 
2. Necessary animal shelters- (1) 6-8 Stall Barn with Wash Bay/Tack Feed Room, (3) Loafing Sheds for pasture lands, (1) Hay/Feed Barn to safely store food, (1) Covered Riding Arena with restroom facilities needed for program participants to provide services, regardless of weather.
3. Necessary Farm Equipment- (1) used Bobcat SkidSteer, (1) Tractor with front load attachments, (1) 1 Golf Cart or Gator with adjustable bed for hauling hay/feed to pastures/fields etc.; (3-4) Hay Huts to protect round bales from weather, (4-6)Auto Waterers to provide clean ongoing water to animals, etc. 
4. Immediate and ongoing Training/Handling of Therapy Animals
5. Various Farm & Liability Insurances for the Facilities & potential volunteers, etc. 
6. Additional Therapy Animals as Programs Grow & Low Temperament Mares for Breeding (see below). 

Additional funds will go towards adding therapy animals to the existing herd through select breeding/training programs for animals, primarily horses, some offspring of which will then be offered for public purchase, or auction, to those who seek to have animals. A portion of the revenue from these offspring sales will go back to investors, as well as provide for future operating expenses & funding needed/required to maintain programming affordable for participants.  

Shining Light's Founder/CEO, Niki, holds a Master’s Degree in Communication/Advocacy from Georgetown University & regularly advocates for foster & adoptive children via radio and television and other community events. Her and her husband have 4 beautiful children together; two of which are special needs children adopted from local foster care and two biological children. Their oldest children have benefited greatly from the very programs they desire to offer to others through this endeavor. 

This is where you, angel donors come in. We have a website and social media platforms that our supporters will have full access to 24/7 to see the impact and progress their support is making. This will include documentaries, videos, pictures and weekly and ongoing updates. We would also like to welcome supporters onsite to get a first hand look at how their contributions are making an impact in a child or Veteran's life. We will do this with Quarterly Contributor Weekend Welcomes, where people can visit with volunteers and the therapy animals on site.

Together we can bring people out of darkness & into the light.
