Hi, I am Penny LeLeux, a content creator, a promoter of the fun and positive aspects of Orange County Texas and most recently a screenwriter/directer.
Over the last few years I have been involved in the creation of seven short films, most done guerilla style, in a 48 hour film race format.
It is time to take the production level up a notch, while also showcasing great locations in the Orange, Texas area.
"Shhh!" Is a spy/romcom (romantic comedy) short film that will be shot in Orange in August 2019. It was written as part of the NYC Midnight screenwriting challenge. We just received word last week that it received an honorable mention in the contest. Woohoo!
I knew immediately who I wanted for the "spy." Some of you may know him as Eastwood Almazon, as he is a Bridge City native. These days he goes by "Woody." I watched him grow up on the OCP stage, so I knew he could pull this part off. We will be have auditions shortly for the rest of the cast.
We have partnered with Fresh Productions for this film, so we have production costs that need to be covered, including equipment, paying cast and crew, feeding them, costuming and props, post production, festival entry fees, etc. I am very resourceful and manage to stretch a dollar, but increasing production quality does incur cost.
Upon completion of the film, plans are to submit it to various film festivals to not only promote the film, but also to promote the Orange area as a great place for viable movie locations.
Our hope is to encourage other filmmakers to consider shooting in Orange, Orange County and surrounding areas.
We need your help in achieving this goal. Even as little as $2 will help.
Those contributing $10 or more will receive in invitation to a special screening event we will host once completed in Orange. We also have other incentives for greater amounts including behind the scenes info, screen credits and more. Get access to SHHH! the movie private Facebook group, where all the most current updates on the film will be posted first, plus exclusive behind the scenes photos, videos and more. Be in the know!
Once the movie is complete, we will arrange a private screening for supporters at the $10 and up level. Be the first to see the finished film. We'll supply the popcorn and drinks! Also you will get the opportunity, if you're available on shoot dates to be background for one of two scenes where crowds are needed. Which scene is director's option. One scene requires 21 and up. It is up to the supporter to be available and have transportation to set on the dates of shoot to take advantage of that portion of perk. The director is not obligated to rearrange times or make any special accommodations for perk. Participants will be required to sign a release form to participate. If supporter cannot fulfill the mentioned obligations, then that portion of the perk is null and void.
Once movie is complete, you'll get a digital download of the soundtrack from the film, which will have several original tunes from Southeast Texas artists and muscians, plus you get all of the lower perks. Part of the donation will go towards paying the musicians for their artistry! We are so excited to be able to feature local songwriters!
Get a movie poster signed by cast members and be listed in a special thank you during the end credits of the movie. You will also receive all the perks below this level.
Receive a autographed prop that is used in the movie and an associate producer credit. Director's choice of prop presented. Props will vary. You will also receive the other perks of signed movie poster, soundtrack download, invite to private screening, etc.
Grab one of just a couple of featured nonspeaking roles to see your face on the big screen. Directors choice of which role. It is patrons responsibility to be available for shoot day as scheduled, transportation not included. You will be required to sign a release. If not available, opportunity may be transferred pending director's approval. Some parts have age restriction of 21 and up. You will also get an producer credit in the film. You will also receive the other perks of lesser amounts.
You obviously love movies and want to be a big part of making it happen! As an Executive Producer you get credit "above the line" in the movie credits. IMDb credit as Co-Executive Producer You will also be invited to be on the set and watch the process as we make it happen. Special VIP recognition at the private screening . Our undying devotion and all the other perks too!
