Trish is an experienced New Zealand qualified veterinarian who has been working tirelessly to establish a vet clinic in Siem Reap for almost a year. She has extensive experience in surgery and in the treatment of many species.

Trish needs help to fund a Trinocular Microsope which will assist hugely with the diagnoses of animals in her care. These include dogs, cats, monkeys, specialised rats used to find landmines and many other species.
Animal care is in its early days in Cambodia and the high level of care that Trish wants to provide will offer education opportunities for Cambodian veterinarians and assistants, as well as to improve the quality of life and welfare for animals.
The microscope can analyse blood, identify internal and external
parasites, tickborne diseases and many other things which are huge
problems in Cambodia.
This particular type of microscope can connect to a computer or other screen to show clients what the problem is, which also makes it a fantastic teaching tool. From here, the images can be easily stored and emailed to specialists worldwide.
It is still largely unknown which diseases pose the biggest problems in Cambodia, and this is important for preventative health and treatment of animals

As well as concerns for animal health and wanting to provide the best care, Trish also cares about human health, humanitarian disarmament, and rabies control.
Trish's medium term plan is to provide the practice as a teaching hospital for local vets and Cambodian veterinary students associated with the Royal University of Agriculture in Phnom Penh. A Microscope will help to enhance this project.
She is also working closely with the Cambodian government with rabies control programs in association with other veterinarians.
