When my friend told me about her mother, I was shocked. To be honest, her mom's condition didn't really register to me. After Melanie shared photos of her Mom it all made sense, my heart sank. I contributed what I could afford. It wasn't much, but thankfully my offering goes a lot further in the Philippines. My name is Dee and I am helping my friend Melanie and her mother, Merlyn. I have known Melanie for about a month and she has demonstrated good character over that time. In the short time I've known Melz it is clear how much she loves her mother.

  I picked these flowers for Merlyn just a couple days before she passed. A few hours after I had sent a small offering to Melanie, I saw this rose in the garden and it made me think of her mother. So I picked a handful of flowers which are shared in the photo.
