A Call-To-Action 2021: EDUCATION IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.
Kisii
Educational Center has rebranded to Kehosa Educational
Center-Kisii in preparation for re-opening on Monday, January
4th 2021 after 9 months due to-COVID19. Effectively, we are required
by the Public Health Authority and the Ministry of Education to adhere
to COVID19 Protocols of social distancing, high level of hygiene and
regular hand-washing. Therefore, our school needs urgent renovations:
Improved toilets, paint, flooring, fencing, kitchen, additional
classrooms (transitioning from the corrugated iron classroom to bricks
and mortar classrooms), installation of electricity or solar power,
new desks or chairs to allow social distancing and putting up a Kehosa
Permaculture Food Forest for the children. We also need books, sports
gears, stationaries and allowances to motivate teachers and support
staff who have been without pay for 9 months.
Under
Sunshine Africa Education Scholarship, kindly consider to sponsor or
invest in our children who have been out of school for a record time!
Monthly fees is USD.50 or £35 or €40 per child to subsidise the
renovation, operational and administrative budget. We anticipate high
enrollment of children due to popularity of the school is located in a
densely populated township of Manga, Kisii-Nyamira as well we had a
successful COVID19 humanitarian response of providing lifeshield
protect masks, soap, and sanitizer supported by our truly amazing
supporters around the world. PURPLE is our adopted colour of HOPE!

Children need books, stationaries, drawing materials, crayons, and access to eLearning tools like computers and internet. $50 per child worth of books and supplies is the projected cost. A #LearningGift of $5 or more can be most appreciated.
Through the help of well-wishers and volunteers, we were able
to buy a sewing machine and sewed 1000s of #LifeshieldMasks that we
distributed directly to all children under our care and the the
larger community at Kehosa Educational Center, Kisii-Kenya in an
effort that was directly coordinated logistically by Armstrong
Ongera, Jenn Roznicki , Helen Stokes, Harold H Hensel and many
volunteers on the ground and remotely. Under #LifeshieldProtect, we
also distributed soap and sanitizers as well as educated children on
COVID-19 preventive measures.
