So I've been selected for the GB Transplant Bowling Squad again - such an honour and an achievement to manage this!
My experience of going to my first Games AND first time going to Australia was amazing!! It still doesn't feel like it actually happened to me! BUT... it did, and not only did I do everyone who supported me proud, I also came home with 3 lovely, shiny bits of bling!! 2 bronze medals and a silver!
Getting through the past couple of years medically hasn't always been plain sailing, but you all know I just get on with things - my right shoulder is still pretty rubbish after royally messing it up doing javelin in Perth and the subsequent British Games in 2023... so I have unfortunately had to hang up my javelin boots/spikes and focus on not hurting it any more and doing sports with my left arm instead!! haha. Just as well I was already bowling as a lefty!
I really didn't want to be asking for financial help from people again - I was blown away by how much support I got for Australia and I was determined (in my normal, independent/stubborn manner) that if I want to compete, I will find the money myself... however as there is still no formal funding for GB transplant athletes, and there has been a significant reduction in sponsorship by the host country the costs to register just to enter are somewhat eye-watering... which is why I am asking you lovely lot for a help towards paying for the registration costs only. The amount it is costing means that Glen won't even be registering as a supporter this time around as there was no reduction in the cost for supporters!!
I will be doing my best to update here and my facebook page with training, fundraising and general fun stuff... and hopefully this time around, it will be easier for me to go live and post updates from Germany throughout the games as not many places in Oz offered free wifi!!

Ok folks, thanks to a very lovely friend I have an absolutely awesome raffle for you...
The opportunity for a 1-2-1 personal sightseeing joy flight in a 1946 classic aircraft (Aeronca Chief).
You will be shown around the plane, take off from an airfield in North Essex and then enjoy around an hour sightseeing some beautiful views and scenery across Essex - you may even be lucky enough to fly over you home!!
Once back on terra firma there will also be another little surprise waiting for you!
All of the above is truly a once in a lifetime experience that is quite simply amazing - I know as I have given it a "test run" myself!

You must be able to make your own way to/from the airfield on the agreed upon day.
Family & friends can come to watch as there is a small cafe onsite.
